Do you like to take your pet wherever you go? If you do, then having a pet stroller can make it a lot easier on both you and your pet. Whether you are going to the park or the veterinarian it's nice to have a place where your dog can feel safe and rest if he gets tired before you do. Finding a stroller won't be hard because they are everywhere. The hard part is deciding on one that works for you. You can get one that is very basic or you can get one of those posh designer deals.
You'll Find a Pet Stroller in Many Shapes and Sizes
Pet strollers come in many styles and sizes. There may not be one type that fits a specific type or breed, but there is sure to be one that will fit your dog just right. If you have a dog that is on the large size then you obviously want to buy one of the more spacious strollers so your dog can comfortably lay down. Don't forget to account for future growth as well, so you don't have to buy anoither one later.
Top Reasons why a Pet Stroller is a Good investment
When I first heard that pet strollers were available, I thought it was a little weird. It just seemed like we were going a little to far in spoiling our pets. Since then I have to admit I have had a change in my opinion of dog strollers. There are so many good reasons why strollers are a good investment. Lets start with a few of my favorites.
- Traveling- Having a Pet stroller makes traveling easier. If you tend to travel alot, especially in airplanes then you already know that it's hard to make plane changes with a pet. By having a stroller all you have to do it roll it along with you between flights and your pet feels safe and secure.
- Dog Shows and/or family Events- If you have a family, especially with little ones, It can Sometimes be hard to keep track of your kids and dogs at the same time, which usually results in you leaving your pet at home. If you had a pet stroller you could easily bring both.
- Exercise- If you have an older dog who likes to go jogging with you,you may find that he has a hard time keeping up with you like he did when he was younger. By having a stroller with you, you can simply load him up and continue your jog.
- Visits to the Vet- When you have an Appointment with your vet, it can be hard to make sure your pet will stay away from other pets. This way your pet is safe and comfortable.
- More than one Dog- Some households have more than one dog, making it hard to keep leashes untangled. Some strollers are made for two dogs, making this a great solution to your problem
- Protection from accidents- If you know that you are going somewhere that is going to have alot of people, it's nice to know your small pets are safe from being stepped on.
- Paw Protection- If you live in an area that tends to get alot of snow and the ground freezes, it can be rough on your pet with the salt and ice that covers the ground.
Helping Your Pet Adjust to his new Pet Stroller
Usually a pet will have little or no problem adjusting to their new Pet stroller, but sometimes it may take a little coaxing on your part to help them feel comfortable. Here are some tips to help you out. Just remember it may take a few times out before they are totally comfortable.
- Reward your pet with treats the first few time he goes in the stroller.
- When first using your pet stroller, go to an area that is close to home and less busy.
- Only put your pet in the stroller when you go outside so they will associate the stroller to going out for a walk.
